The old ford
Part of a bigger project called Taking the waters, This mainting shows the river befor it reaches the town of Buxton. The river has come off the moors, through a golf cource and is now meandering through a small woodland. There are a few older house dotted around and the area had proviously been used for making brick, though little evidence still remains, just red brick rubble along the path. Pehaps that is why there is a ford at the bottom.
